About Amanda
Amanda Spencer has an extensive background in residential, commercial, retail, industrial and rural real estate throughout Australia. Amanda is an Accredited Specialist in Property Law and has experience over the past 36 years in Property, Finance, Construction and estate planning areas of the Law.
Amanda worked as a conveyancer from 1980 in Sydney and then studied Law and was admitted at Sydney University in 1997, she then completed her Specialist Accreditation in Property Law in 2003. She has vast experience advising in investment property acquisition, property development, self-managed superannuation purchasing and financing, contracts and tenders, development agreements, infrastructure contracts, project finance, leasing, joint ventures, licensing, easements, property and strata/community development.
Amanda commenced her legal career at a large law firm in the Sydney CBD working her way to the position of senior associate lawyer within the property department, where she worked with organisations such as Woolworths group, Colonial First State, RAMS and many medium to large development groups. Amanda was also involved in major development projects within the Sydney CBD, North Sydney and Norwest Business Park in Sydney’s Western suburbs. She advised a number of leading Australian financial institutions and corporates which lead to a position within a national financial planning corporation.
Amanda worked as the solicitor director in the Financial Services sector taking the Group from a small state-based financial planning organisation to a national-based company with offices in each of the states of Australia and in New Zealand. She formed part of the executive, advised the Group and the Property Panel on matters relating to residential investment property, self-managed super funds, property development, the finance broking sector, insurance, funds management, estate planning and compliance.
In 2012 – after encourangement from members of the property investment industry, who were finding it difficult to find a solicitor who understood property investment, Amanda formed Bridge Legal. The firm was specifically established to assist clients of referrer organisations such as Property Investor Acquisition Facilitators, Financial Planners, Finance Brokers and Accounting Practices. Amanda’s vast understanding of the financial planning sector and investor finance lending attracted Financial Planning practices seeking her assistance to provide legal professional services in relation to finance, property transactions and estate planning for their client investors. Finance lending for investors being vastly diverse to that of an everyday conveyance, Amanda’s patience and experience with developers, clients and banks ensures matters are settled with minimum delays to all parties.
